The patron of this year's World Climate Teach-In Day 2010 is commissioner Conny Hedegard (European Commissioner for Climate Action, Denmark).
"Climate change is a challenge that no-one, no-where can escape. It is already happening and if not controlled its consequences could be desastrous. And yet if we act quickly, boldly and jointly we can do a lot about it. We owe this much to future generations. The World Climate teach-In day is one of the initiatives that contribute to engaging and mobilising in favour of climate action. I am very happy to be its patron this year".

"Look hard at the facts, look hard at the challenges but above all concentrate on the opportunities! The future of our economies will be green, whether by design or by default. Climate Change is the best illustration of that point of choice we find ourselves in at this point of history."
